34 Nepalis in Kabul awaiting for rescue

Eight more Nepalis were rescued on Saturday from 42 people, who were awaiting for rescue in Kabul, Afghanistan. According to the Foreign Ministry, eight of the 42 people waiting for the rescue flight have been evacuated from Afghanistan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 34 people awaiting rescue flight have been shifted to safer places on Saturday. Necessary coordination is underway to rescue and repatriate them.

The ministry has also requested those in Afghanistan to register their names with the online portal on the Consular Services website and the department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry’s Situation Room and the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi.

Civil aviation is currently closed in Kabul. The U.S., British, German and Indian air forces have been rescuing civilians.

Meanwhile, shots were fired at Kabul airport on Saturday, according to international media reports. The shooting took place at the main gate of the airport.
