Nepal’s largest automobile exhibition, NADA Auto Show 2026, concluded successfully on Sunday after six days of activities at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Organized from September 9 to 14, the event featured more than 200 stalls and brought together leading automobile brands, financial institutions, and auto component companies under one roof.

During the closing ceremony, organizers honored exhibitors in five categories for their outstanding stall presentations. In the four-wheeler passenger vehicle category, BYD, represented by Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., received the award for the best stall. In the two-wheeler category, Yamaha, showcased by MAW Rides Pvt. Ltd., was recognized as the best exhibitor. Among commercial four-wheelers, DIGO, marketed by NEV Nepal Pvt. Ltd., won the top award.

Similarly, Michelin Tyres, exhibited by Sipradi Autoparts Pvt. Ltd., secured the best stall award in the auto components category, while Machhapuchchhre Bank was declared the winner among banks and financial institutions. According to NADA, the winners were selected by a three-member evaluation committee that included representatives from relevant sectors.

The exhibition featured 25 passenger vehicle brands, 17 light commercial vehicle brands, 13 two-wheeler brands, and 15 banks, financial institutions, and insurance service providers. Electric vehicles dominated the show, reflecting Nepal’s growing shift toward sustainable transportation. New-generation EVs, motorcycles, scooters, and locally assembled products attracted significant attention from visitors.

Several leading automotive brands unveiled or showcased their latest models, including BYD, Tata, Deepal, Nami, Avatar, Jaecoo, Chery, and Dongfeng. Alongside vehicle displays and sales, banks and financial institutions competed aggressively in the auto loan market, offering attractive financing packages, reduced interest rates, lower service charges, and discounts on loan premiums to attract customers.

However, the event took place amid the tragic floods and landslides in the Bhotekoshi region, which caused significant loss of life and property. NADA President Surendra Kumar Uprety expressed sympathy for the victims, stating that while disasters may challenge communities, they should not weaken the nation’s determination and resilience.
