USID chief Samantha Power arrived in Kathmandu

Samantha Power, head of the United States Mission for International Development (USID), has arrived in Nepal.

After leaving Kathmandu, Power reached Adarsh ​​Secondary School in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.

During his stay in Nepal, Power is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Foreign Minister Vimala Rai Paudyal.

This is the highest level visit from any country after the formation of new government in Nepal. Earlier, in 2002, this kind of high-level visit was made by America. The then Foreign Minister Colin Paul made an official visit to Nepal.

Power is a cabinet level high official. He is also a member of the National Security Council.

This is the second high-level visit from America after the formation of new government in Nepal. Power arrived in Kathmandu less than a week after US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland visited Nepal.
