Upper TamaKoshi Hydro to generate electricity from Baisakh

Kathmandu, April 18

The Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project under construction in Dolakha district is scheduled to start generating electricity within this Baisakh.

The first unit of the project will start generating electricity within Baisakh. Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, informed about the production of electricity at a meeting of the Parliamentary Finance Committee on Sunday. He said, “The work has been intensified to generate 76 MW of electricity from the first unit within Baisakh. Upper Tamakoshi will generate 456 MW of electricity by next Bhadra.”

Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Hitendra Dev Sakya, informed that work is underway to start production from the first unit of Upper Tamakoshi on Baisakh 31.
