Two arrested with red panda skin

Two persons have been arrested in Jajarkot with the skin of a red panda habre. Police have arrested Lok Bahadur Rokay and Gorakh Bahadur Rokay of the same place along with the skin of an endangered red panda.
A plainclothes police team from the District Police Office has been monitoring and searching for Lok Bahadur Rokay of Barekat-3 on the basis of secret information that Lok Bahadur Rokay was smuggling and selling the skin of an endangered red panda. And Lok Bahadur Rokay, 35, from the north-west room on the left side of the ground floor of the restaurant.According to the District Police Office, Jajarkot, Gorakh Bahadur Rokay, 20, was arrested by the police.While searching their bag, police arrested two persons with a 28-inch-long red-black-white fur-shaped red panda skin, which looks like a rare wild animal, red panda, wrapped in a white sugar bag inside a black backpack. Jajarkot Police Chief DSP Madhu Kumar Thapa said.According to DSP Thapa, District Police Office, Lok Bahadur and Gorakh Bahadur have been handed over to Division Forest Office, Jajarkot for further action.
Such illegal activities have been taking place even though the law of Nepal ensures that those involved in smuggling, killing and smuggling of rare wild animals including skins from one village to another will be prosecuted. The District Police Office, Jajarkot, has requested the District Police Office or the nearest police station to assist the person involved in the illegal trade by giving confidential information.
