The Prime Minister is addressing the COP 26 conference today

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is addressing the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP-26) today. The COP-26 conference on climate change is starting today in Glasgow, UK.

Deuba is scheduled to address the opening ceremony of the conference on Monday afternoon, local time. He will also meet with various prominent people.

During the visit, he will hold bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning. On the same day, he will hold talks with the President of Sri Lanka and also hold sideline meetings with officials of the World Bank, IMO and UK MOD.

He is also scheduled to hold talks with the President of Sri Lanka tomorrow. The COP-26 conference, which started in Glasgow on October 31, will continue till November 12.

A team of experts led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is participating in the conference on behalf of Nepal. Sher Bahadur Deuba is participating in the COP as the first Nepali Prime Minister since the then Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal attended the COP 15 conference in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2009. In the ensuing 12 years, no prime minister has gone to the polls.
