Telemedicine and health information program launched in collaboration with Ncell and Dhulikhel Hospital

Ncell Axiata Limited has launched the most awaited telemedicine and health information program in collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital under its corporate social responsibility.

Ncell Chief Executive Officer, Andy Chong has handed over telemedicine equipment to four health centers operating under Dhulikhel Hospital. Also, the administrative director of Chong and Dhulikhel hospitals, Dr. Ramesh Makaju also inaugurated the Ncell-Dhulikhel Hospital Telemedicine and Health Care Information Center established at Dhulikhel Hospital.

The objective of this program is to provide quality health care to the rural and remote communities who are deprived of services by adopting the method of providing health services based on technology and data. Under this initiative, Ncell is constructing and handing over the necessary connectivity infrastructure for telemedicine equipment and service delivery to the health centers run by Dhulikhel Hospital in rural areas.

Dhulikhel Hospital is providing human resources such as doctors and consultants and other necessary assistance for the operation of the program. The hospital will also conduct periodic trainings and monitoring activities to run the program successfully.

In the first phase, the program will be conducted through the community health centers at Manekhark in Sindhupalchowk, Dorpu in Kholukhumbu, Thangsin in Nuwakot and Bolde in Kavrepalanchok. These centers provide services to a total of more than 15,000 households. After the implementation of the program, the locals will get treatment services for chronic diseases, non-communicable diseases, communicable diseases and other diseases. In the next four years, Ncell plans to implement this program in 20 or more health centers.
