Rotary to purchase Cancer Screening Center and Blood Collection Van

Butwal. The Rotary Club of Butwal has launched four different projects targeting the health and social sectors. Under Rotary’s Global Grant Project, work on four projects for the year 2021-22 is underway. Including Cancer Screening Center and Blood Collection Mobile Van.The club has stated that the cancer screening center to be set up at Lumbini Provincial Hospital is a mega project. “This is a mega project of around Rs 100 million. Initially, Rs 25 million is being invested for it,” he said. He also said that with the establishment of Cancer Screening Center, women in particular will no longer have to go out to be diagnosed with cancer.

Similarly, the process of purchasing Blood Collection Mobile Van has reached the final stage. Chairman Upadhyaya said that the process of purchasing a van with Indian Tata Company at a cost of around Rs 6.5 million has been started and now it is being prepared to bring it into operation soon. After the operation of the mobile van, it will be very reliable as the general public who want to donate blood can donate blood at their place of residence and blood can be collected inside the van and kept at a certain temperature.

Rotary is also starting the process of installing traffic lights in Butwal sub-metropolis. Upadhyay said that the work would be carried out in collaboration with Butwal Sub-metropolis at a cost of around Rs 4.5 million and Rotary alone would invest Rs 1.5 million for this. In addition to this, Rotary is ready to move ahead with the drinking water project by identifying the slums of poor and deprived citizens.
