Remittances increased by 8.6 percent; More than 6 kharba worth remittance entered in the country

Nepal received remittance of Rs. 6 kharba 42 arba 14 thousand in the first eight months of the current Fiscal Year 2077/78. According to the eight-month data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, remittance income has increased by 8.6 percent in Falgun compared to Magh.

The remittance inflow had increased by 1.5 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year. In US dollar terms, remittance inflows increased by 5.0 percent and reached to Rs. 5 arba 45 crore. Such inflows had increased by 1.5 percent in the previous year. During the review period, the number of Nepalis seeking final labor approval (institutional and individual-new and legalized) for foreign employment decreased by 74.8 percent.

Such number had increased by 24.2 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year. The number of Nepalis seeking re-employment for foreign employment decreased by 65.2 percent during the review period. Such number had decreased by 2.7 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Net transfer increased by 7.2 percent and reached to Rs. 718 arba 70 crore during the review period. Such transfers have increased by 1.0 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year.
