Public Vehicles allowed to run with Full Capacity

Public vehicles have started to carry passengers to their full capacity. The Cabinet meeting which was held yesterday, allowed public vehicles to carry passengers to their full capacity.

With this decision, the fare has been adjusted to normal.

Previously, the government had said the public vehicles to carry passengers only half of their capacity and charge double the previous fare.

Meanwhile, each vehicle should have at least two thermal guns to measure body temperature of passengers and transport workers. Passengers should be provided with hand sanitizer while boarding and there should be proper ventilation in the vehicle.

Contact number and address of each long-route and short-route passenger should be submitted to the district administration.

Though, public vehicle operators have welcomed the decision, they are worried that there are not many passengers like previous years even though, the festive season has all most started.
