Oli called an Emergency Standing Committee Meeting

Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has convened an emergency standing committee meeting.
UML office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said that a meeting of the standing committee was convened at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar at 4 pm today. He said that the meeting was convened to discuss current political developments.
On Friday, on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli, President Vidyadevi Bhandari dissolved the parliament and announced mid-term elections in October and November. Opposition parties are protesting.
A meeting of the standing committee has been convened to decide the UML’s stance on the issue.
