NMB Bank gets Rs 1 billion loan from swiss investment fund
NMB Bank Limited has entered into an agreement with Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets (CIFEM). The bank has agreed to invest US 12 million (Rs 1.43 billion) in loans.
According to the bank, after the agreement, NMB Bank will use CEFEM’s investment to disburse loans to local small and medium enterprises, increase access to financial services, develop the financial sector and protect employment.
For the first time in Nepal, CIFEM will invest in loans through commercial banks. The investment agreement was signed last November.
