Nepse rose early on Monday after criticism over Prachanda’s remarks about the stock market
KATHMANDU: The stock market measurement index Nepse has started rising after the start of trading on Monday after a continuous sharp decline. In the first 35 minutes of trading, Nepse has risen by about 53 points.
Earlier, in the first two days of the year, Nepse had dropped by 168 points. It had dropped by 80 points on Monday alone and by more than 88 points on Sunday. The stock market continued to decline due to unfavorable expressions by responsible leaders.
Chairman of the UCPN (M) Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda had said that capital market investment would promote imperialism and discourage it. Despite the criticism, Prachanda said on Monday that he was adamant in his statement.
The Maoist center was also criticized after the no-vote campaign against the finance minister started due to the sharp decline in the capital market. In a program organized on Monday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had objected to the rumors that Nepse had declined due to his own reasons.
Even the Vibekshil Saja Party had objected to Prachanda’s statement. Nepse, which had reached around 3200 points last August, had fallen below 2300 points after Monday’s trading.
