Masks mandatory for public transport; if not action to be taken

The Kathmandu administration has made it mandatory to use masks on public transport to prevent and control corona infection.

The decision was taken at an all-party discussion held at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu on Friday. The discussion was attended by district administration, traffic management department, traffic police officials, transport businessmen and transport workers.

Kathmandu CDO, Kali Prasad Parajuli informed that it has been decided to strictly follow the health standards in the public transport sector. He also said that it has been decided to take action if the passengers boarding public transport are found not wearing masks.Similarly, it has been decided to keep only passengers equal to the seat capacity in public transport, manage the physical distance and make arrangements for washing hands with soap and water in the bus park.
