In the face of Dashain, increased the price of everything from pulses, oil to transportation
In the face of Dashain, consumers have been hit by high prices. Consumers have been hit hard by rising prices of daily necessities like pulses and oil including transportation.
Lately, the prices of vegetables, fruits, daily necessities like pulses, rice, nuts, edible oil and cloth have gone up. Prices of vegetables have almost doubled.
There is no reason to increase the price now. There is no problem in the market. Adequate supply of goods is being made but the prices have been increased through wholesale.
There is no price of any vegetable below Rs 100. Entrepreneurs have increased prices arbitrarily saying that production has decreased. No matter how much the price goes up, consumers are forced to buy quietly.
Taking advantage of the festive season, traders increase the prices of most of the daily necessities in the market.
Due to which, consumers have been hit hard when they have to pay exorbitant prices. However, the government’s festive monitoring has not been able to provide relief to the general consumers.
There is a need for a separate body to monitor and analyze prices in Nepal. Such a body has to be given the right to take action too.
