Kathmandu, April 8

The government has urged district administration offices to close night businesses and restaurants after 9 p.m.

The Ministry of Health and Population issued a notice on Wednesday urging district administrations to strictly close night businesses. The notice also urged all district administration offices to make the use of masks outside the home and in public places mandatory as per the Infectious Diseases Act.

Similarly, the ministry has urged the concerned agencies to tighten the traffic in those places where more than 500 active people are found infected in big cities and more than 100 in small towns. The ministry has requested to tighten the quarantine rules and the number of members of various teams or visiting teams coming from abroad.

The ministry has also requested the educational institutions to be on high alert as corona infection is on the rise in the school age group in Kathmandu, Pokhara and other big cities. It has urged to take high health security precautions in shopping malls, cinema halls, dance halls, health clubs, swimming pools, party palaces, temples and other crowded places. Ministry has informed to the concerned health offices and local levels to increase contact tracing to identify corona infections and to increase antigen and PCR testing as required for case investigation.
