Government directs to close schools in cities
Kathmandu, April 19
The government has decided to close schools in urban areas as the risk of corona infection increases.
A cabinet meeting held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday decided to close schools in urban areas by issuing a new order on Covid-19. As per the recommendation of COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC), the Council of Ministers has decided to close schools in urban areas and conduct virtual classes, said a minister.
Corona infection has been on the rise across the country for the past few days. After the students became infected, the Ministry of Health had been saying that schools should be closed and teaching should be done through alternative means.
