Emphasis on developing tourism infrastructure including housing

It has urged to develop tourism infrastructure including accommodation in the tourist places in Myagdi. Navin Pokharel, Manager, Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki Pradesh, has urged the local level and tourism entrepreneurs of Myagdi to build infrastructure including accommodation to prolong the stay of tourists in the identified tourist organizations.

Manager Pokharel had suggested the tourism entrepreneurs of Myagdi to pay attention to cleanliness along with construction of roads, footpaths, squares and gardens to make the tourists happy.

Stating that the number of tourists visiting tourist sites has been decreasing recently, he said that along with the identification of new destinations, attention should be paid to the necessary infrastructure. Chairman of Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Pradesh Sanjay Sigdel said that the visit was necessary to highlight the possibility of a new tourist destination to prolong the stay of Pokhara-centric tourists.He said that cooperation is needed to highlight the potential of Ghodepani Punhil and other identified tourist areas of Myagdi. He said that the number of tourists in Pokhara has increased due to the increase in the number of tourists.

He said that the purpose of Tan’s visit was to develop tourist facilities including accommodation to highlight the potential of nearby tourist destinations including Pokhara.Bel Bahadur Katuwal, president of the Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the tourism entrepreneurs have invested in the construction of tourism infrastructure including accommodation in Khopara, Todke, Ruise, Jhankrapani and Singal areas which are identified as stopping tourists from going to Mustang in Myagdi. He informed that discussions have been held for the construction of infrastructure in Ghodepani, Khopara, Todke, Singatatopani and Bhurung Tatopani to increase the number of tourists.

He said that Myagdi Tourism Year has been organized in the past to promote the identified tourist destinations. Senior Vice President of the Association, Suvin Shrestha, informed that the footpath-centric hoteliers have collapsed as the road expansion is eroding the footpaths and suggested that Tan should pay attention to this. Locals have been able to develop tourism business as a source of income due to lack of planned development of tourism infrastructure including accommodation in Myagdi, which has mountains like Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna, Manapathi and Gurjal.
