Deposits of the banking system fell by 2 billion in one day

The deposits of the banking system increased by 2 billion rupees in one day. According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank today, 2 billion rupees were withdrawn from the banking system on May 9. According to the data of the Central Bank, till the 9th of Baisakh, deposits of 61 trillion 37 billion rupees have been collected in the banking system. As of Baisakh 8, there were deposits of 61 trillion 39 billion rupees in the banking system.

Deposits of commercial banks also decreased by 1 billion rupees. In total deposits, commercial banks’ deposits are 54 trillion 24 billion rupees. On the 8th of Baisakh, the total deposit of commercial banks was 54 trillion 25 billion.

Similarly, deposits of other financial institutions also decreased by 1 billion. As of May 9, the deposits of other financial institutions are 7 trillion 13 billion rupees.

The total credit flow of the banking sector is stable. Credit disbursement which was 51 trillion 2 billion on 8th of Beishakh is the same till 9th ​​of Beishakh. Similarly, the CD ratio is also stable i.e. 80.79 percent. The interbank interest rate has increased somewhat. The interbank interest rate has increased to 2.92 percent which was 2.76 percent on May 8.
