Death of a pig heart transplant recipient

The world’s first person to receive a pig heart transplant has died. David Bennett, who received a pig heart transplant, died in Baltimore, USA, two months after the transplant. Bennett, 57, was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart transplant.

Prior to this, before a heart transplant was performed, there was no guarantee that the transplant would be successful and that it would work for a long time.
