Concessional loan campaign for youth

Jumla-Tila Municipality has started a concessional loan campaign to make 150 youths entrepreneurs. Young people are being made entrepreneurs for economic development and increase of income of poor citizens.

The village municipality has stated that the program has been put forward to improve the livelihood of the youth. For this, the village municipality has signed a tripartite agreement with Nabil Bank and National Youth Council. As per the agreement, 150 entrepreneurs will get concessional loan of Rs. 140 million for running various businesses and enterprises.

One entrepreneur will get a loan of Rs 1 million to Rs 10 million. A total of 632 women and youths from all nine wards of the village municipality had filled up the application form for the concessional loan. Tila village chairman Ratan Nath Yogi said that 150 of them were selected on the basis of business nature and entrepreneurial ability. “Prosperity cannot be achieved only through development infrastructure including education, health and drinking water,” he said. “Unless there are entrepreneurs in every household, the goal of economic development will not be achieved.”

The village municipality has stated that sheep and rabbit farming, agribusiness, organic koseli house operation, siliktai, hand hosiery, bean, commercial apple and okhar farming business have been given priority under the campaign.
