Bandipur is being made a hub for meat and milk
The Bandipur Municipality has given priority to animal husbandry business by making the municipality a ‘hub’ in the meat and milk sector.The village municipality has given priority to milk and meat subsidy program to encourage livestock farmers and has started providing services by constructing a building of livestock development branch at Bandipur-1 Nahala with the aim of making them self-reliant within five years.
The building was constructed at a cost of Rs 10 million with the help of Nepal Livestock Sector Innovation (NLSIP) after local Chhalimaya Shrestha provided 19 acres of land worth around Rs 10 million free of cost.
The village municipality is preparing to provide a subsidy of Rs. 1 per liter for milk as well as incentives for meat production. madhu vilas neupane, head of the livestock development branch, said that the building would provide services to the livestock farmers, increase production, artificial insemination in animals, laboratory, technical suggestions, distribution of grass seedlings and make necessary recommendations.He said that it has become easy to give more encouragement to the commercial animal husbandry farmers of the village as soon as the service started flowing from the building. As they start promoting commercial animal husbandry, their attraction towards it is increasing.
