Army helicopters mobilized to control Nagarjun fire; Preparing to pour water

A Nepal Army helicopter has been mobilized to control the forest fire in Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Chief District Officer, Kali Prasad Parajuli said that the fire is under control.

According to the police, the fire started from Budhanilkantha Municipality-1 Taulung at 11 am on Sunday and is spreading.

Chief of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, AIG Hari Bahadur Pal informed that preparations were being made to drop water from an army helicopter. According to Parajuli, teams of locals, army, police and armed forces are trying to control the fire. He said that four fire brigades have been mobilized to control the fire.

“We have sent a team of army, police and armed forces to control the forest fire in the national park. We have used four fire engines to control the fire,” said Parajuli.
