Damauli, Dec. 4: Alumni of Arani Secondary School in Tanahu’s Bhanu Municipality-13 have been forced to help the school. They have started a campaign to raise funds for running the school through English medium.

Chairman of the Alumni Forum, Gal Bahadur Gurung, informed that the fundraising campaign was launched after the school’s financial resources were not enough for English medium education. According to him, more than one and a half lakh has been collected so far at the request of the forum. He said that the campaign was started by setting up an alumni fund as the school had to procure one lakh worth of textbooks annually and the school could not afford it. “The campaign is getting support from home and abroad. Alumni of the school have also helped.”On Wednesday alone, Raju Bikram Adhikari, a resident of Bhanu-12 Aha in the United States, has donated Rs 50,000. Similarly, Raju Adhikari, who lives in the same country as Bhanu-13, has donated Rs. 51,000. Secretary of the forum Ram Krishna Kunwar informed that Rs. 60,000 received from various people has already been handed over to the school.So far, Prem Gurung from Australia has donated Rs 25,000, Prakash Thapa from Khadkagaun Rs 10,000, Prem Gurung from Barkhaula Rs 5,500, Yuvraj Gurung from Pulimarang Rs 5,000, Mohammad Talim Mia Rs 5,000 and Rabin Khadka from Mohoria Khadkagaun Rs 10,000.
