About 7 lakh tourists entered in nine months

In nine months of 2023, about 7 lakh tourists have entered Nepal.

According to the data of the Tourism Board, 692 thousand 372 tourists have entered from January to September 2023.

According to statistics, 91 thousand 12 tourists came to Nepal in September. As the tourist season has started, the number of tourists has increased.

September has the highest number of Indian tourists. According to the board, 28 thousand 694 tourists have entered from India.

Similarly, 8 thousand 174 tourists came from China, 7 thousand 364 from America, 3 thousand 716 from Bangladesh, 3 thousand 685 from Australia, 3 thousand 640 from Britain.

Similarly, 3 thousand 11 tourists came from Sri Lanka, 2 thousand 852 from Germany and 2 thousand from South Korea.

The latest tourist figures are 90.28 percent higher than the pre-Covid-19 tourist arrivals. The government has set a target of bringing in 1 million foreign tourists in 2023.

The board believes that the arrival of foreign tourists will increase in the coming days as the tourist season has started in Nepal. Maniraj Lamichhane, the director of the board, said that since the tourist arrival has been continuously increasing in recent months, it will be easy to reach the target.
