Kathmandu has become the most polluted city in the world
Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, has been included in the list of sixth most polluted cities in the world.
As of 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Kathmandu’s air was among the sixth most polluted cities in the world.
Lahore, Pakistan, tops the list of the world’s most polluted cities in a list released by the Swiss air quality monitoring company AQUAR. India’s New Delhi has become the most polluted capital in the world. For the fourth time in a row, New Delhi has become the most polluted city in the world.
The second most polluted capitals are Dhaka in Bangladesh, Chad’s N Dijamina in Chad, Dusanbe in Tajikistan in fourth and Muscat in Oman in fifth.
According to data compiled by AQUAR, no country was able to meet pollution standards in 2021. Only 3.4 percent of the surveyed cities met the criteria.
Exceeding the index of 151 is considered unhealthy. At present, the AQI of Kathmandu is around 153.
