The central office of the Red Cross is closed from today

A sit-in has started at the central office of the Nepal Red Cross Society in Soltimode . The sit-in has started this morning saying that the tenure of the executive director and director has been extended illegally.

It is said that the meeting of the ad hoc working committee including the executive director has decided to maintain the term of office of the executive director for three years and the term of the director for five years and for the appointment of junior staff in the deputy executive director. According to the agitators, the protest has been intensified as the organization is trying to maintain the tenure and appoint junior employees contrary to the staff service regulations. Employees led by the society’s president Bishnu Timilsina have started a sit-in inside the office demanding repeal of the decisions contrary to the staff regulations. All internal affairs have been affected due to the sit-in .

It has been informed that the sit-in will be held from 10 am to 4 pm every day till the demand is met.
