‘Seeds for the Future’ program completed
The ‘Seeds for the Future’ program organized has been completed in Nepal by Chinese smartphone Huawei company .
This is the first year that Huawei has introduced a program in Nepal. Holding a ceremony on Monday, the company concluded its global flagship CSR program. The event was attended by some people from ICT backgrounds of Nepal, 19 students from eight universities and 13 educational institutions. Global Flagship CSR Program A program has been organized in Kathmandu for graduate students of all ICT related subjects in Nepal.
Its application was also opened in Nepal last October. It was a program specifically targeted at all undergraduate students, with 136 applications received from across the country. Out of these, 19 students were selected.
“We had already tried to bring ‘Seeds for the Future’ to Nepal but it was stopped due to Corona,” said Ivan Moe, PR manager at Huawei. As this was the first time it was organized in Nepal, it was difficult to explain it to many. ‘According to Ivan, the program provides students with a new social platform that makes it easier for them to participate internationally in the future. In addition, the students have been able to adapt to the current technology in collaboration with Huawei and have gained practical knowledge along with book knowledge through training.
At the event, Jachen, Vice President of Huawei Asia Pacific, spoke about Huawei’s plans to invest in digital talent development in the region. He said Huawei has committed an additional 50 million over the next five years to develop 500,000 ICT talent in the Asia-Pacific region alone.
