Kathmandu: Chairman of the Federal Council of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has wished for unity among the progressive forces. In a tweet on Wednesday, he congratulated Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on his re-election as the President of the Nepali Congress.

Deuba has won for the second time in the second phase of the 14th General Convention after the first round of voting was not decided by the president. According to Congress Central Election Committee member Tej Rawal, Deuba, who is the Prime Minister for the fifth time, has received 2,733 (59.22 percent) votes. Another candidate for the chairmanship, Dr. Shekhar Prasad Koirala has received 1,855 (40.77 percent) votes.
