Congress has not started voting yet: Representatives have been in line since this morning

Kathmandu: Voting for the election of the new leadership of the Nepali Congress has not started yet even though it has been said that voting will start from 8 am. Though polling is scheduled to start at 8 am at Bhrikuti Mandap and Rastriya Sabha House, it has not started yet. The Central Election Committee (CEC) has stated that the polling is being delayed due to delay in the arrival of ballot papers.

Delegates had lined up at the polling station before 8 am to cast their votes. However, they have been frustrated since the voting did not start even after sitting in line for almost three hours. Representatives are lined up outside the polling booths at the National Assembly and Bhrikuti Mandap. Delegates had lined up at the polling station before 8 am to cast their votes. It is seen that the main competition will be between Sher Bahadur Deuba and Shekhar Koirala for the post of Nepali Congress president. The candidatures of Prakash Man Singh and Vimalendra Nidhi have complicated the competition.

If any of the presidential candidates fails to get 50 percent of the votes, there will be competition between the top two. The Deuba group is hopeful of winning from the first round. Koirala, Singh and Nidhi, who formed separate panels, have taken the policy of taking the election to the second phase.
