75-year-old man killed in Baffle plot
Police have arrested the accused after identifying the body found burnt in Baffle, Kathmandu. The body found at Keshav Pandey’s house in Baffle has been confirmed to be that of Harka Bahadur Bania of Kavre’s Mechche house, SSP Chandra Kuver Khapung of the Metropolitan Crime Branch told Ratopati. The body was found burnt on October 25.
A team led by DSP Krishna Kumar Chand of the Metropolitan Crime Branch has arrested the accused after investigating the incident. According to SSP Khapung, 33-year-old Sushil Sharma was arrested.Police were forced to identify the body of Harka Bahadur, who was found in a burnt condition with his mobile phone and identity documents and clothes. However, after a 10-day investigation, the police have identified the body on the basis of the fingerprints of the bank account opened for old age allowance and the sketch of the clothes worn by him.
Harka Bahadur, 75, used to beg and eat in the Baffle area. The nephew, who had returned from abroad on October 20, had met Harka Bahadur in Baffle. The nephew also made a video saying, “Why are you living like this? Let’s go home.” Sushil had also met Rahak Bahadur’s nephew that day. Sharma was watching the video and talking.
