1.8 million worth of shoes recovered through customs fraud

Butwal- Rupandehi police have seized goods worth Rs 1.8 million including trademarks.According to the Rupandehi Police, the suspects were taken under control from Butwal-2 Tinau Bridge on Sunday morning.

Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rupandehi and Deputy Superintendent of Police Navratna Poudel said that Bishnu Tharu, 32, of Murgia, Sainamena Municipality-4, Rupandehi was arrested while he was carrying goods in a Bolero jeep (Lu 1 Cha 8213) from Kapilvastu to Butwal.

He said that 25 cartoons of Air, Bata and Sports brands and 750 pairs of shoes were recovered. Police said that they have taken Tharu under control and started investigation.Police spokesperson Poudel said that the seized goods have been sent to Belahiya Rupandehi Customs Office for necessary action.
