President’s call to international businessmen to invest in Nepal

President Ramchandra Paudel has called upon international industrialists and businessmen to invest in agriculture, tourism and energy sectors in Nepal. President Paudel made the call today while inaugurating the 37th CASI Conference which will last for two days and is a joint project of Asia Pacific Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAC) and Confederation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

“Investment areas are increasing in Nepal and laws are being made to facilitate investment, I call upon international industrialists and businessmen to invest in agriculture, tourism and energy”, said President Paudel. President Paudel expressed the view that there are many opportunities in the fields of investment and trade to connect the abundant natural resources and resources such as agriculture, water resources, and tourism in our country, which has a strong desire for economic development, with the international world.

“Nepalese electricity market is now also becoming India and Bangladesh, the recent progress in the field of electricity trade has opened up important opportunities for entrepreneurs who want to invest in hydropower. I call upon all of you to invest in Nepal’s hydropower sector”, he said.

On this occasion, President Paudel also appealed to all the entrepreneurs and businessmen to help the victims with humanitarian sentiments due to the earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum West due to the earthquake that happened on Friday night.

He opined that small and medium enterprises are the backbone of our economy. “Sustainability in the modern age is not just a buzzword, it is also the cornerstone of our future. Small and medium enterprises are the backbone of the economy. They create growth, innovation and jobs”, he said.

He said that there is an active, disciplined and peaceful labor force in Nepal’s labor market and this is an asset for businesses looking for skilled labor, innovation and entrepreneurship. He mentioned that the country’s growing middle class is an emerging consumer market, presenting opportunities for various industries including retail, consumer goods and services.

He expressed confidence that the natural diversity of Nepal has great potential for the development of the tourism sector and the investments made in it today will pay off tomorrow. Information technology, manufacturing industry, agricultural industry are other sectors that have potential in Nepal, so he urged to increase investment in these sectors as well. He said that the topic of the conference is not only a global concern but also relevant for the economic development and sustainability of Nepal.
